General

Are you affiliated with any programs or associations listed on this site?

No. WesternPleasure.com is a privately owned web site, owned by Equine Media Works, LLC and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or related to any other network.

Other sale horse sites offer free text ads. How come you charge for text ads?

A few reasons – the first being that unlike other sites Western Pleasure considers it Important to advertise in national and regional print publications geared toward the Pleasure industry.

The second reason is that we want people to be able to link to their own web sites (and other potential horses) on every ad – other sites do not permit web URLS on their text ads. We do, because you’ve paid for it.

Who created this site and how can I get in contact with you about helping me Advertise.

Western Pleasure.com was designed for Equine Media Works, LLC by Colorado-based Electric Spin Enterprises. For help with your advertising and marketing needs feel free to call us at 402/494-4495.

My horse does it all, or may do it all in the future, how do I choose a main event?

This is a tricky one. We would love to say that all Western Pleasure horses would Make great trail horses, western riding horses, etc. If your horse does it all you Will need to mention that specifically in your ad.

Stallion Ads

My stallion is for sale, but I’m also standing him at stud…. Your form only lets me choose one option – why?

We consider this to be two different types of advertising, so you are welcome to place two ads for your stallion – each will be assigned a different ad number and treated as completely separate ads… so any edits to one would need to be manually changed in the other. Fee free to mention this “dual status” in the text of both ads, however.

This same principle applies to horses like broodmares that may “for Sale” and “for lease”, please place a separate ad for each purpose.

I’m considering offering an incentive program for those who breed to my stallion next Year – will you include that on WesternPleasure.com?

We already have a place for it! It’s called “Sire-Sponsored Incentive”, and the best way to get the word out is to place an “at stud” listing for your stallion, checking the “Sire-sponsored Incentive” box. You can also advertise eligible foals on Western Pleasure, check that same box and Explain the incentive details in the text of their ad. Good Luck!

Technical

When I click on a Photo #2 link within an ad, nothing happens even though the link looks to be active. What’s going on?

It sounds like you have a pop-up blocker running, which prevents new windows from opening even when you request them by clicking on a link. First, test if this is the case by holding down your Control key or Shift key while you try the link again. If a photo appears, you will need to either perform that same action each time you want to access a photo in a new window, or you can specify to your browser or security system that RideWiththeProgram.com is a safe site that you can always accept pop-ups from.

For Internet Explorer, go to Tools/Pop-Up Blocker/Pop-Up Blocker Settings and allow http://www.westernpleasure.com. For Mozilla Firefox, this same option is under Tools/Options/Content. In AOL, a link to ‘Allow All Pop-Ups From This Site’ should be at the bottom right of your screen, or you can disable pop-up suppression from Settings/Preferences/Pop-Ups. If you use the Google or Yahoo Toolbars, you will have to allow our pop-ups from within those toolbars. Please contact us if you need help.

I’m sure this was the email address and password I signed in with, but it’s not working. Help!

First try just entering your email address and requesting your password be emailed to you. It should arrive in your inbox within five minutes – be sure to check your spam filter if you don’t see it. If the error message tells you your email address is not recognized, please try another email address and repeat the process or fill out our help form for more assistance.

I keep getting an error message when I try to upload my photos – something about file size?

If you tried to upload photos directly from your digital camera, chances are in their raw, unaltered state they greatly exceed the file size allowed on WesternPleasure.com. You can use your computer’s image editing program to resize the files, save them under a new name, and upload to WesternPleasure.com. Please use our help form if you continue to have problems.

It says each photo ad can have up to three photos displayed. Why does my ad show only the first photo?

In order to offer the viewers speedy downloading times, we decided to display one photo within the body of your ad, while the other photos and video clip are accessible by simply clicking on the prominent links below the text description of your horse. This allows us to keep things clean and also allows a larger image to be displayed in the window which will appear when a viewer clicks on the link.

I don’t have a scanner. Can I mail you my actual photos?

Yes, you can - but it’s probably cheaper and easier to have a nearby friend or relative scan and email the files to you to upload. We charge $15 (or 15 credits) per photo to scan and return the photo to you. We do not return photos via registered or insured mail and do not take responsibility for photos lost or damaged by USPS.

If you'd like to send your photos, please include a check ($15 per photo) made out to Equine Media Works, LLC to the following address:

Western Pleasure.com
Equine Media Works, LLC
1771 F. Ave
Dakota City, NE 68731

Be sure to include a return address. We will let you know via email when your photos have been received and then returned in the mail.

I have new photos to add and I want to change the one that appears at the top of my ad. How do I do that?

Login to your account, and from the ‘Manage Ads’ area locate the ad you’d like to change and click ‘Edit Ad’. From there you will find a place to upload different photos. The photo known as ‘Photo #1’ will be displayed near the top of your ad, while the other photos will pop up in a new window when the viewer clicks the respective link.

You can also choose which of your three photos you would like to display as the thumbnail, which is a small image appearing in the short listing of your horse’s ad when it appears along all the other ads in a search. In most cases we recommend you leave Photo #1 as the default thumbnail so that when a viewer sees your ad he/she recognizes the same horse from the thumbnail.

My question hasn't been answered here. Will I get a real person if I call you on the phone?

Yes. We prefer email communication because sometimes it's easier to understand questions and answers in written format, or you may need to be walked through a process... impossible if you have dial-up internet access which uses your phone line. If you'd like to call us at (402) 494-4495, please do so between 9 AM and 5 PM, MST. We look forward to talking with you!
